Job Description

Executive Director – Retirement Residence Cogir Senior Living manages retirement residences across the country, offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care. With over 25 years dedicated to retirees, we seek an Executive Director to lead our teams and deliver the “More Living” experience to residents.

Responsibilities

Lead a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous development.

Recruit, train and mentor staff to ensure exceptional service and resident care.

Manage all department operations, ensuring smooth functioning, compliance with collective agreements and optimal fiscal resource allocation.

Implement and maintain policies to uphold industry standards and regulations while achieving financial targets with maximum operational efficiency.

Drive sales and occupancy, collaborating across teams to exceed occupancy targets and actively promote the residence within the local market.

Set and monitor targets for employee engagement, resident satisfaction, audits, occupancy rates and net operating profit, and develop strategies to surpass these goals.

Build strong relationships with employees, residents and their families, fostering open communication, continuous improvement and stakeholder feedback.

Represent the organization to regional teams, external vendors and regulatory bodies, upholding professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years of management experience, preferably in senior living, hotel or hospitality.

Experience managing a multidisciplinary team in a unionised environment.

Strong leadership, management, organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Proficiency in strategic planning, decision‑making and financial acumen/budget management.

Experience in optimising operational efficiency and achieving marketing, sales and financial goals.

Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.

Ability to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or be willing to obtain one.
