THEROLE IN A NUTSHELL Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysisand working closely with the team, the student will join the Corporate AnalyticsFP&Ateam in supporting monthly financial analysis and forecasting initiatives. This positionprovidesexcellent opportunitiesin learning and implementing financial concepts in a corporate environment and getting a broad understanding of the overall organization.

Responsibilities

Support the compilation of monthly management reporting deliverables, including PowerPoint documents summarizing overall financial performance and key drivers of under/over-performance

Use Tableau software toidentifytrends in benefit cost,utilizationand other key drivers of financial performance

Assistwith scenario modeling for corporate planning purposes and regulatory filings

Assistwith providing data for insurance industry surveys and analyzing the results for GSC’s Senior Leadership Team

Support projects related to GSC’s finance transformation initiative

Work collaboratively with the broader Corporate Analytics team and Finance / Accounting

Ad hoc off-cycle financial analysis on specific areas of the business

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Working towards a recognizedBachelor's degree or Master'sdegree in business (financespecialization preferred),actuarial science,math or technical field from an accredited college or Universityrequired

Superior analytical andproblem solvingskills

Working knowledge of SQL/Python/R

Advanced knowledge of MicrosoftExcel

Ability toquery,process,manipulate,and analyzelarge amounts of data

Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills with strong attention to detail

Desire to learn andabilityto think critically

NICE TO HAVE

Understanding of group benefits and insurance industry

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau

Bilingualism (English & French)
