Senior Environmental/Environmental Consultant (Contaminated Land)

Agon is a locally employee-owned, national environmental consultancy. We specialise in environmental management, hazardous materials, and site contamination advice for clients across government, infrastructure, and development sectors. We are seeking passionate Senior Environmental / Environmental Consultants, Engineers, or Scientists to join our Adelaide team. You’ll work on diverse projects across South Australia and interstate, collaborating with Principal Consultants to manage and remediate contaminated sites on complex, large-scale projects. Tasks

Design and implement field programs (soil, groundwater, soil vapour sampling). Coordinate and execute fieldwork aligned with scope, budget, and timelines. Mentor and lead junior team members (senior consultants). Interpret field and laboratory data, provide expert advice, and compile technical reports. Manage projects from proposal through to completion (senior consultants). Oversee contractors, ensuring safety and quality of field programs. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and EPA accredited auditors. About you

Strong work ethic and relationship-building skills. Motivation to grow with the business. Collaborative energy and enthusiasm. Initiative and effective time management. Attention to detail, especially in technical writing. Experience & Qualifications

1–10 years’ experience in contaminated land / environmental / geoscience sectors. Bachelor’s or higher in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geoscience, Chemistry, or related fields. Knowledge of contaminated land management, waste classification, PSI/DSI investigations, remediation programs, and report preparation. Familiarity with SA and National regulatory frameworks (SA EP Act, PFAS NEMP, ASC NEPM). Strong technical report writing skills. Highly regarded

Hazardous material consultancy experience (assessments, monitoring, remediation). Specialist software skills (ESDAT, QGIS, Datanest). Why Agon?
