Scotiabank . This position reports to the Head of Engineering – Branch Technology and is responsible for delivering cutting‑edge Salesforce solutions for our channel advisors. You will act as a technology advisor for the Salesforce platform, leading multiple engineering squads and working closely with business and technology teams to shape strategy and ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and manage multiple engineering squads delivering Salesforce solutions for Canadian Banking.

Develop aligned squad roadmaps in collaboration with technology and business line leaders.

Collaborate with business SMEs and technology teams to create platform roadmaps that align and assist in moving business strategies forward.

Define, lead and execute a cohesive strategy to limit technological debt and manage transition from legacy systems to modern platforms, maximizing operational efficiencies.

Assess key software assets of the Bank to ensure they are not at risk from obsolescence, and plan for retirement, extension, reuse or consolidation.

Engage with engineering and design teams to determine best technical implementation methods and reasonable schedules for launching products regularly.

Provide guidance to stakeholders to prioritize business value.

Lead and drive a customer‑focused culture across delivery teams, deepening relationships with business stakeholders and leveraging broader bank relationships, systems, processes and knowledge.

Coach architects and foster team growth into a high‑performing architecture delivery team.

Participate in long‑range strategy planning and manage policy development to address complex business issues.

Provide key technical support and guidance for RFPs of vendor solutions.

Ensure regulatory, security and privacy alignment (including GDPR and PII) at the global level.

Build a high‑performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team, fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in computer science or a comparable field, and 15+ years of experience in financial services technology and architecture, including a minimum of five years in leadership.

Mandatory experience managing large (50+) Salesforce technology implementations in the financial industry.

Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, conflict management and planning skills.

Deep knowledge of data management, enterprise architecture disciplines, automated application controls and core IT processes (application development, change management, information security, computer operations, business continuity, cloud deployment and services).

Strong capability in performance management of advisors in the branch and other channels such as contact centre.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organizational skills.

Strong analytical, finance & accounting, data processing and problem‑solving skills.

Experience in a leadership role focused on application development, technical architecture, data or delivery.

Experience managing operating and project budgets.

Strong project management skills, able to multi‑task and manage concurrent projects.

Experience with vendor product assessment & selection, vendor management and negotiating contractual terms.

Proven ability to deliver platforms and capabilities and manage solutions through the lifecycle.

Significant experience leading complex solution implementations with multiple squads (15–25 resources per squad).

Deep understanding of heterogeneous infrastructure technologies, emerging trends and modern technology transformation.

Experience with Agile principles and DevOps environments enabling CI/CD.

Knowledge of IT business continuity, cybersecurity and integrated risk management is highly desirable.
