Queensland Treasury's People and Culture Branch is committed to building a diverse, capable, flexible, and engaged workforce. As the Principal Health Safety and Wellbeing Consultant, you will report to the Manager, Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) and work within a collaborative and skilled team. This role provides the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) programs and initiatives that support Treasury's strategic goals. You will play a pivotal role in advancing Treasury's HSW maturity and fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace.

In this role, you will:

Lead the development and implementation of HSW management systems, processes, and tools to enhance organisational capability.

Provide expert advice to all levels of management, including guidance on HSW risk assessment, management, and complex health matters.

Prepare high-quality documentation, including executive briefs, policies, procedures, reports, and communications on HSW issues and initiatives.

Plan, develop, implement, and monitor WHS management systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Contribute to strategic planning to align workplace health and safety initiatives with organisational goals.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program delivery and outcomes.

What experience you will bring:

Expert knowledge in WHS and a proven ability to lead and deliver complex HSW programs that drive organisational change and support strategic goals.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage risks, adapt to changing priorities, and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Expertise in managing complex illness and injury cases, as well as rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.

Thought leadership in identifying emerging issues and providing expert advice.

Exceptional relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.

There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however having relevant qualifications in human resources or related discipline will be highly regarded.
