Teaching Principal Level TP1 – Nangus Public School
Nangus Public School is a vibrant small school located 60km from Wagga Wagga and 26km from Gundagai, with 9 students across a multistage setting, including students with additional needs. The school emphasizes literacy and numeracy, well‑being, reflective practice, and collaborative relationships with families, caregivers and the community.
Position Information
The role requires the successful candidate to lead and manage a small rural school, delivering high quality education with a focus on literacy, numeracy and inclusive whole‑school programs. Unconditional full approval to teach is mandatory; candidates without approval must commence the application process concurrently.
Selection Criteria
Proven ability to plan and teach students in a multi‑stage setting while balancing teaching and administrative responsibilities.
Demonstrated understanding of the unique context of rural schools and their communities.
Expertise to lead evidence‑based, future‑focused teaching practices with a relentless focus on continuous improvement, especially in literacy and numeracy.
High‑level educational leadership to manage a complex public school and deliver high‑quality education.
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole‑school teaching and learning programs.
High‑level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
Capacity to implement the Department's Aboriginal education policies and ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Conditions
Unconditional full approval to teach is required. Applicants without approval must initiate the application process with the NSW Department of Education at the time of application.
Additional Information
Classifications and remuneration are based on the Crown Employees award 2017 and reflect school complexity. The principal classification for this school is TP1 for 2025 and 2026.
Applicants should include their WWCC clearance number in the application.
