Job Description
As the Head of Infrastructure Delivery at Yarra Ranges Council, you will lead the strategic planning, design, and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects that directly shape the regionâs future. Youâll manage a skilled multidisciplinary team overseeing upgrades, road schemes, capital works, and technical advice, while working closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure projects align with Councilâs vision and meet community expectations. This role includes providing expert technical advice to the organisation, community, and councillors on the sealing of roads, footways, drainage, and other infrastructure improvements.
This is a fullâtime permanent (38 hours per week). This is a Senior Executive Officer position.

Experience and skills weâre looking for
Lead and support work groups by building trust, setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and inspiring high performance through consistent communication and alignment with organisational values.
Oversee major and minor road improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Monitor contract performance and tender adherence, including recommending variations and conducting audits.
Drive process improvements and delegate authority to enhance systems and workflows.
Embed sustainability and design best practices into road construction projects, aligning with environmental objectives.
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, and/or extensive experience in infrastructure design, delivery, and program management within local government or a similar environment. Similar qualifications will also be considered.
Make customer satisfaction the primary focus when implementing new processes, activities, or culture.
Ability to identify future directions, develop a strategic position, provide high level strategic advice, and to develop appropriate strategies and policies.
Experience in identifying and addressing emerging and strategic issues for the management of road and drainage assets.
Ability to stay informed of current policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
