Job Description
Step into a unique role where you’ll help lay the foundations for our brand-new centre from day one. As a passionate and experienced Centre Manager, you’ll be central to shaping our operations, nurturing a positive culture, and defining our educational philosophy. Your focus will be on ensuring a seamless launch and setting up everything needed for long‑term success. You’ll oversee daily operations, champion a high‑quality learning environment, and lead a dedicated team of educators; creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe space where children and staff flourish.
What you’ll do
Centre Operations & Compliance:
Be at the heart of our centre’s day‑to‑day action! You’ll make sure everything runs smoothly and ticks all the boxes when it comes to Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. You’ll help set our service up for success, right from the start, and keep us on track with the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Leadership & Team Management:
Step up as a true leader for our talented crew of educators, assistants and support staff. You will lead by example and make teamwork a core part of how the team succeeds. Your energy will help build a positive, supportive atmosphere where both kids and staff feel inspired every day.
Recruitment & Staffing:
Play a key role in hand‑picking our dream team! You’ll take charge of recruiting, nurturing and developing our staff, making sure everyone’s engaged and giving their best. Focusing on training and retention, you’ll help create a workplace where people love coming to work.
Parent Engagement & Occupancy:
Shine as the face of our centre by welcoming families, leading tours and turning curious visitors into happy enrolments. You’ll build strong, friendly relationships with parents and help foster an inclusive community where everyone feels right at home from day one.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Keep your finger on the pulse of our service’s finances! You’ll manage budgets, track performance and share reports on occupancy, compliance and how we’re travelling overall.
Health, Safety & Risk Management:
Take the lead in keeping our centre safe and sound. You’ll put top‑notch health and safety measures in place with support from the experts, making sure our environment is always safe, welcoming and cared for to the highest standards.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
You’ll need an ACECQA‑recognised Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, current certificates in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma management, a valid Working With Children Check, and up‑to‑date accredited Child Protection Training.
Experience:
Bring at least 3 years’ experience as a Centre Manager or Nominated Supervisor. You’ll also need a solid grasp of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system, Kindergarten Compliance (KIMs), and confidence using compliance software.
Leadership Abilities:
You’ve got a strong track record leading teams, supporting staff, and rolling out top‑quality programs in line with the Very Early Years Learning Development Framework (VEYLDF). Experience overseeing budgets, occupancy and upholding National Quality Framework (NQF) standards is a must.
Communication:
You excel at both written and verbal communication—building genuine relationships with parents, resolving grievances, and bringing your team together with clear, supportive leadership.
