Interim VAT Manager

Handle are currently working with a market leading global media brand, who are looking for a highly skilled VAT Manager! This role plays a key part in ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across the UK market and works closely with the wider UK and EMEA finance teams.

Key responsibilities -

• Review, validate, and correct VAT Debtor and VAT Creditor entries recorded in the ERP system to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Review and prepare revised Q1 and Q2 FY2025 VAT Returns for resubmission, ensuring all amendments are fully supported
• Prepare the final Q3 2025 VAT Declaration, ensuring all underlying data is complete and reconciled
• Identify anomalies, propose adjustments, and work with relevant teams to ensure corrections are implemented correctly
• Provide clear, practical advice on VAT implications for new projects, business transactions, and operational changes
• Support non-finance teams with VAT insight, helping them make informed decisions

Candidate requirements -

• VAT expert, with strong knowledge of UK VAT and ideally exposure to non-UK VAT regimes.
• A qualified accountant (ACA, CTA or equivalent) with solid post-qualification experience in both public practice and industry.
• Experienced in working within large, complex organisations, dealing with UK and international suppliers/customers.
• Highly analytical, with excellent attention to detail and confidence working with large and complex datasets.
• Skilled in Excel (Google Sheets/Docs useful but not essential).
• A clear and engaging communicator who can translate complex tax issues for non-experts.
