Business Development Executive
About Patent Monetize
Patent Monetize is a marketplace to connect patent seller and buyers, assist inventors, startups, and enterprises convert patents into commercial outcomes through licensing and sales. We operate in both a self-operating listing model and an end-to-end managed model, from due diligence to deal execution.
Role Summary
From patent listing leads coming from platform, grant data building to market our platform to qualified opportunities and licensing/sale conversions. You’ll contact newly registered patent owners, explain our process and engagement options, gather required information, and run targeted buyer outreach campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Post-Grant Outreach & Seller Conversion
Patent Grant Data:
Build and maintain a global database of granted/registered patents for systematic outreach and tracking. And accordingly email marketing to introduce our platform to sellers.
Monitoring:
Continuously monitor grants/registrations; shortlist relevant assets by domain and market fit.
Owner Outreach (Email + Call):
Explain our step-by-step monetization process, engagement options, timelines, and deliverables.
Information Intake:
Collect jurisdictions, commercialization status, target geographies, and any prior outreach history.
Preliminary Buyer Engagement:
Demonstrate go-to-market clarity and convert interested owners to our
Managed Service
(scope, success fees, onboarding).
Potential Buyer Lists:
Prepare and refine lists of potential buyers/licensees aligned to technology and application areas.
Outreach Campaigns:
Launch email/LinkedIn/industry-group promotions; monitor open/reply rates; schedule discovery calls and keep orderly records of interactions.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum
1 year
in IP licensing/commercialization, IP services sales, technology transfer, or B2B tech BD;
or at least 1 year of experience in the IPR field.
Domain Familiarity (Plus):
Comfort with intellectual property, legal services, or technology markets.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or a related field.
Communication:
Clear, professional email writing; confident calling; strong objection handling; structured note-taking and reliable follow-through.
Mindset:
Metrics-driven, process-oriented, persistent, and highly collaborative with technical/legal functions.
