Meelup Management has been entrusted with the recruitment process for the Group General Manager IT for Genus which has a seat at the table as part of the Executive Team.

The Role
Primary position function
Based in Perth at the head office, the Group General Manager – Information Technology (IT) is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in the delivery of IT projects, services, and technology initiatives. This includes overseeing systems and frameworks that align with industry best practice and are appropriate for the size and scale of the business, encompassing cyber security and IT control frameworks.
The business will be relying on you to be a technology leader, up to date with all current and emerging strategies in the profession and know when and how to take the lead and influence a business today and into the future.
Key attributes needed to fulfil this function
Strong technical knowledge that you continue to explore and build on so you can truly lead and share with others when relied on for strategic and operational implementation and “fit for purpose” solutions.
Know when to listen, when to lead and when to follow
Experience in integrating systems and technology where mergers & acquisitions have occurred without adding layers of complexity and difficulty for users.
The ability to do multiple operational aspects of “business as usual” on the one hand but pivot and change focus as needed. The ability to adapt to the twists and turns of the business is critical – it is not a straight line journey!
This business has evolved due to its singlemindedness of success / growth and providing safe + profitable project outcomes. IT is a support function to enable this and part of strong support team.

Position requirements .
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in IT leadership roles, including strategic planning and operational delivery.
Proven experience in setting and delivering IT strategy, and managing IT operations within remote or mining environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing IT teams in a small, hands‑on environment.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across corporate and site‑based teams.
Demonstrated experience in vendor management, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing service agreements with third‑party providers.
Proven understanding of cyber security, IT risk management, and IT control frameworks.
Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills and ability to deliver outcomes in dynamic environments.
Internet and PC proficiency with advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Current National Police Clearance.
This is an immediate start opportunity but we will work with the preferred candidate to achieve a suitable start date which may not be immediate but require a notice period elsewhere.
