Do you want to contribute to the safety and resilience of the ACT community by supporting the delivery of emergency services that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week? The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, ESA Programs to lead its Project Management Office and drive strategic project delivery across the Agency.
ESA is responsible for emergency management and support arrangements in the ACT, comprising four operational services: ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service, and ACT State Emergency Service. ESA Corporate Services supports these operations through specialist functions including governance, workforce strategy, training, wellbeing, procurement, and project management.
As Director, ESA Programs, you will report to the Senior Director, Governance and Coordination and work closely with stakeholders across ESA to support project delivery and strategic initiatives. You will provide expert guidance to Project Managers, ensure alignment with ACT Government frameworks, and lead continuous improvement in project management practices.
This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.

Eligibility / Other Requirements
Qualifications in Project / Program Management with experience in leading a project management office and delivering projects successfully is highly desirable.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, Teams and SharePoint is highly desirable.
Background / Security clearance checks will be conducted.
A ‘C’ Class driver’s license is essential.
This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
