Head of Technology

Develop and drive the technology vision and roadmap aligned with Swann’s business strategy: including hardware, firmware, embedded software, IoT connectivity, cloud, apps, data analytics/AI, and services. Lead and build high-performing R&D, engineering and technology teams (both locally and globally) to deliver next‑generation products and solutions. Oversee the full product life cycle: from concept & prototyping through to manufacturing, release, and post‑market support. Ensure Swann’s product architecture is scalable, secure, robust, and meets global regulatory and market requirements (e.g., Australia, US, UK, Asia). Drive innovation in emerging areas such as computer vision, AI/ML in smart security, connectivity (WiFi 6/6E/7, 5G, PoE), cloud‑native services and subscription models. Work closely with cross‑functional teams (product management, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, sales) to bring products to market on time, on budget, and to required quality levels. Establish and maintain technology partnerships (components, IP, software platforms, cloud services) and vendor ecosystems. Define and enforce robust technical standards, processes and governance: cybersecurity, firmware update strategy, data privacy, reliability, cost‑control, quality assurance. Monitor competitor technology trends, industry standards, regulatory changes and incorporate into strategic planning. Provide leadership and mentoring to senior engineering managers; foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and accountability. Partner with the executive leadership team to evaluate and execute on mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments (tech/verticals) as needed.
