We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and action‑oriented person to fill this pivotal role in a dynamic and fast‑moving team.
The work is varied, interesting, and can delve into any aspect of financial management and policy for NSW Health and how this works in a large organisation, dealing with Health entities, Treasury, Ministry of Health branches and other government organisations. It can often involve developing a rapid understanding of a topic and providing advice to support the continued improvement and sustainability of NSW Health in the future.
As well, your knowledge of the financial operations of NSW Health, you will need to have a solid understanding of how NSW Government operates, particularly for financial management and procedures.
Crown Clerk 11/12 , starting salary from $149,739 – $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, 35‑hour work week, work location flexible with primarily a – 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards base.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working closely with the teams in the Financial Planning and Analytics branch and supporting the Executive Director, Financial Planning and Analytics, you will provide high‑level strategic advice, reporting and analytics on financial policies and management from a strategic lens.
This Involves Collaborating With
NSW Health entities – LHDs, shared service providers and pillars
Branches of the Ministry of Health
NSW Treasury and other NSW Government entities
You will be expected to identify and manage projects that address emerging issues that will impact the Financial and Corporate Services Division and other strategic projects. Advice may be required in various formats that you will prepare with minimal executive input.
About You
Passion and capability to dive deep into complex problems and solve them considering the broader picture and with positive outcomes for all
Practical understanding of the NSW Health system, particularly in relation to financial management, accounting and funding requirements for the Ministry of Health and its controlled entities
Demonstrated knowledge and experience at a senior level in strategic alignment to organisational directions with a finance perspective and working knowledge of strategic financial planning for large organisations
Tertiary qualifications at degree level in finance or a related discipline
The ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels
