What Is the Opportunity We are seeking a seasoned manager to build and lead the IT Technical Writing competency within Enterprise Platform Services (EPS). This opportunity allows you to shape the future of technical writing within EPS and elevate the quality of team‑centric material used for both internal and external assessments and examinations.

Job Description The role focuses on creating and maintaining documentation used in audits, control testing, and regulatory examinations, collaborating across multiple platforms and technologies for continuous learning and growth.

The successful candidate will exhibit strong managerial skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, a robust technical background, and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

KEY MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of Technical Writers.

Establish Standards: Enforce documentation standards, style guides, templates, and repositories to ensure consistency across all technical writing engagements.

Manage Quality: Oversee creation, maintenance, and delivery of high‑quality, clear, accurate documentation for internal controls, audit assessments, and external regulatory examinations.

Workload Management: Manage the team’s workload in a fast‑paced environment, meet changing priorities and deadlines, and track progress toward engagement timelines.

GENERAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain technical documentation: Create accurate, concise documents—process flows, procedures, governance documents, narratives, user manuals, guides, release notes, and online help systems—per corporate standards.

Collaborate with subject matter experts: Gather information, clarify technical concepts, and ensure documentation accuracy, supporting control design and testing.

Conduct research and interviews: Interview experts to gather information, understand technical concepts, and develop documentation.

Edit and revise documentation: Ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides and brand standards.

Create visual aids and graphics: Develop diagrams, flowcharts, and other visuals to support documentation.

Maintain documentation management systems: Organize, maintain, and update repositories, including version control and content management systems.

Participate in agile development processes: Integrate documentation into development cycles to meet user needs.

Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiencies while preserving business integrity.

Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills.

What Do You Need to Succeed? Must‑have

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Communications, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing and coaching teams.

Minimum 7–10 years as a knowledge‑management specialist or lead technical writer.

Strong understanding of documentation principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Minimum 5 years in IT Operations for process/controls documentation.

Minimum 5 years with industry‑standard documentation or knowledge‑management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Confluence).

High‑level knowledge of COBIT, NIST, FFIEC.

Experience with content‑management systems (Confluence, SharePoint, GitHub) and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to produce clear, concise, engaging content for various audiences; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Ability to analyze complex technical information and simplify it for users; strong research and interviewing skills.

Meticulous attention to detail and high‑quality documentation standards.

Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to work in a structured, task‑ and timeline‑driven environment.

Nice to have

Experience in IT risk management.

High knowledge of technology/platforms (hosting, database, middleware, network, datacenter, network security, data security, vulnerability management, SMO, architecture, disaster recovery, capacity & performance management, IT operations).

Knowledge of banking regulations such as FINRA, SEC, MSRB, FRBNY, OCC.
