Project/Design Engineer, Municipal Engineering & Land Development
role. The successful candidate will join the Municipal and Infrastructure team in the Lower Mainland, working out of either the Langley or Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will lead land‑development projects for residential and commercial sites, major municipal water, wastewater, drainage, and roadway infrastructure projects, providing planning, design, and construction services. You will work directly with clients and approval agencies to deliver high‑quality solutions.

What you can expect to do here
Conduct feasibility studies
Prepare preliminary and detailed designs of civil roadworks, water supply systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and stormwater management
Provide construction services, including site field reviews, reporting, and MMCD contract administration
Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
Manage client relationships and deliver proposals
Perform other related duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to WSP
Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university (preferred)
Professional Engineer licence or eligibility for registration in EGBC (required)
Minimum 3+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure and land development projects, including water, wastewater, and drainage systems
Progressive experience with design, project management, and construction
Experience in construction contract administration
Experience working with municipal government, construction contractors, and developers
Knowledge of Lower Mainland land‑development markets and local client relationships (asset)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and municipal infrastructure modelling software (asset)
MMCD Contract Administration accreditation (asset)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
High attention to detail, self‑motivated, and enthusiastic team player
Ability to work independently
Compensation
Salary range (BC): $71,500 – $98,300. Final salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, and business needs.
