Overview people2people is pleased to announce that we are exclusively partnering with Justice Connect as they seek a strategic, people‑centred leader to guide their Self Representation and Seniors Law programs into their next phase of growth and impact.

About Justice Connect Justice Connect exists to make legal support accessible to all. They design and deliver high‑impact programmes that connect people and community organisations with free legal help, while driving systemic reform to create fairer laws and a more just society. Based in Melbourne and Sydney, Justice Connect is a respected not‑for‑profit known for innovation, collaboration, and impact.

Their Specialist Legal Programs team delivers two nationally recognised initiatives:

Seniors Law : integrating legal and health justice partnerships to address elder abuse.

Self‑Representation Law : supporting people navigating complex courts and tribunals, including through the Domestic Building Legal Service, Federal Self‑Representation Service, and Victorian Self‑Representation Service.

Role Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Self‑Representation and Elder Law will provide strategic leadership, ensuring both programmes are high‑quality, accessible, and scalable. This is a pivotal executive role that blends strategic vision, service delivery leadership, and people development.

Key Accountabilities

Lead a team of managers and lawyers, fostering a safe, inclusive, and high‑performing culture.

Set strategic direction, embedding innovation and evidence‑based service design to improve outcomes for older people, self‑represented litigants, and communities.

Strengthen partnerships with health, aged care, courts, tribunals, and regulators.

Embed human‑centred design, digital transformation, and lived experience in service delivery.

Manage budgets, workforce planning, risk, and funding relationships with government and philanthropic partners.

Contribute to Justice Connect’s broader strategic and reform agenda as a member of the executive leadership team.

Qualifications

Law degree and eligibility to practise in Australia (preferred).

Senior leadership experience, including managing and inspiring high‑performing teams.

5+ years post‑admission experience as a lawyer (area of law flexible), ideally with exposure to public interest, civil justice, elder law, or community legal practice.

Proven experience leading service delivery, programme design, evaluation, and growth initiatives.

Understanding of, or experience in, digital innovation and embedding technology in service delivery.

Alignment with Justice Connect’s social justice mission and values.

Benefits & Compensation

Permanent, 0.8 FTE (30 h/week) senior leadership role (open to full‑time for the right candidate).

Flexible work arrangement – choose to spread the 30 hours over five days or compress them into fewer days.

US$160,000 base salary + 17.5 % Leave loading + 12 % Super (pro‑rata).

Hybrid working model (40 % in‑office monthly) with offices in Melbourne (Collins Street) and Sydney (Liverpool Street).
