Position Information Dorrigo Public School, with a current enrolment of 77 students, is situated in the heart of the Dorrigo township on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student population is 10% of the total school enrolment. The school currently operates 4 composite classes. It is well resourced and has a family occupation index of 122.

The school fosters a culture of high expectations and our learning programs are personalised, supporting a diverse range of learners with the PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Demonstrated approachable, visible and collaborative leader, who is able to empower harmonious and productive relationships with students, families and staff to effectively address the specific needs of students from a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Demonstrated capacity to lead strong and supportive student wellbeing and engagement programs, school behaviour management practices and build on learning and support systems.

Strong, strategic research based practices to lead and inspire staff to enable ongoing growth of student outcomes and innovation across the curriculum in multi-stage classes.

Evidence of inclusive change management practices with outstanding interpersonal skills, strong communication and high emotional intelligence to foster a positive student centred school.

General Selection Criteria

High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.

High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2025 and Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2026.
