Analyst - Global Equities (Long Short)

A leading global investment manager is seeking a mid‑level Investment Analyst to join its high‑performing long/short equities team. This role sits within a small, collegiate group of investors known for deep fundamental research, disciplined shorting strategies, and strong long‑term performance.

You’ll work closely with senior portfolio managers on global equities, focusing on original, bottom‑up research on smaller to mid‑cap names rather than index names heavily covered by the sell side. Key responsibilities

Conduct in‑depth fundamental research on international companies across multiple sectors (excluding financials, real estate, and resources)

Build and maintain detailed financial models, assess valuation scenarios, and present actionable insights

Participate in investment discussions and contribute to both long and short idea generation

Work collaboratively within a small, high‑trust team of experienced investors

Ideal background

4–10 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, or buy‑side equities

Exceptional academic record (D average / 96+ ATAR‑type profile)

Strong analytical and financial modelling skills

Genuine passion for global equities and fundamental investing

Curious, self‑motivated, and commercially minded

No prior shorting experience required, but a willingness to learn is essential

We will not be considering candidates with a focus on real estate, mining, financials, infrastructure, oil & gas.
