The Opportunity:
As part of our growth Talis is seeking a Senior Asset Management Consultant to join us on a permanent full-time basis in our Perth office. In this role you will be responsible for leading and delivering asset management projects in the local government sector dealing primarily with public infrastructure assets. You will apply your in-depth knowledge and expertise to help clients solve complex issues, maximize growth, and improve business performance. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and leverage your network to generate new business opportunities. The successful candidate will meet the core position requirements and align with the Talis culture.
Project Management: Lead and deliver projects for local government clients, meeting time, quality and cost objectives
Asset Valuations: developing valuations of public infrastructure in accordance with national accounting standards and principles
Forward Works Programs: developing programs of works for public infrastructure renewal, incorporating defined budget scenarios and prioritisation rules
Asset Management Plans: drafting or updating Asset Management Plans for local government, in alignment with adopted industry frameworks (e.g. NAMS+)
Providing expert asset management advice on systems, processes, and best practice
Conduct asset data analysis, condition assessments, and lifecycle modelling
Costing of projects and development of proposals and tenders
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to business development initiatives
General administration and adherence to established quality and WHS processes
Lead and manage project teams and/or specialists to achieve project outcomes
Position Requirements:
Proven experience in applying Asset Management practices to public infrastructure (roads, drainage, paths, etc), ideally within or consulting to local government
Experience in the development of Infrastructure Asset Valuations, Forward Works Programs and drafting Asset Management Plans.
Strong project management skills and ability to work within defined budgets, timeframes and meet quality outcomes
Ideally a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related field
Familiarity with asset management frameworks such as ISO 55000, IIMM and NAMS PLUS and relevant asset valuation Accounting Standards
A practical understanding of lifecycle principles related to public infrastructure
Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and asset management skills
The ability to work independently and prioritise workload in a service-driven environment of competing demand drivers
A high level of demonstrable experience and expertise in applications such as Excel, for the analysis and presentation of data. Sound capabilities in all other Office applications (Word, Powerpoint, etc)
Experience working with GIS tools (e.g, QGIS) would be viewed favourably
