About the role
The Head of Mental Health Services is responsible for leading and overseeing New Horizonsâ Mental Health programs across NSW. In this role, you will guide the design and delivery of traumaâinformed, recoveryâoriented services, ensuring programs meet quality standards and contractual requirements.
You will support and lead Mental Health Service Delivery Managers, strengthen workforce capability, and drive continuous improvement across all regions. A key part of the role involves building strong relationships with NSW Health, Local Health Districts, housing providers, and community organisations.
This role suits a strong leader who can balance strategic planning with dayâtoâday operational needs, while championing personâcentred care and lived experience within mental health services.
Your responsibilities
Lead Mental Health programs across NSW to ensure highâquality, traumaâinformed, and recoveryâfocused services
Build strong relationships with NSW Health, Local Health Districts, housing providers, and community partners
Support and guide Mental Health Service Delivery Managers and frontline teams
Monitor service performance, manage risks, and ensure all contractual and compliance requirements are met
Oversee onboarding, supervision, and development of staff to strengthen workforce capability
Use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement and enhance client outcomes
Monitor program performance against KPIs and ensure compliance with all contractual, legal, and WHS requirements
About you
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health related discipline
Minimum of 5 years leading a Mental Health service and working in a Hasi/CLS program
Strong understanding of Hasi/CLS model of practice and recovery orientated care
Ability to travel across NSW as required
Capability in strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and workforce development
Preâemployment Checks
Current Police Check (Issued within the last 3 months)
Current NSW Drivers License
NDIS worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
NSW WWCC (or willingness to obtain)
