Job Description

We are so excited to have an opportunity available for an innovative Solution Architect (internally referred to as Solution Designer)!

We are currently delivering a range of strategically significant ICT projects that require your technical expertise. These initiatives offer substantial opportunities for professional growth and exposure to diverse technologies and business domains.

Your skills are essential to support the end-to-end implementation of ICT solutions, including but not limited to systems such as PD Online, the Property Development Contribution System, Resource Scheduling platforms, and Project Management tools.

In this role, you will apply your technical capabilities across a broad spectrum of technologies and platforms. This includes engagement with cyber security, Microsoft 365, backup solutions (e.g. Commvault), storage infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, cloud services, SharePoint, Microsoft Copilot, on‑premises hardware, networking, and systems integration. Your contribution will be critical in the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable ICT solutions.

You will have experience in a similar Solution Designer / Solution Architect position and the willingness to continue learning new skills and technologies. You will have strong problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders effectively. Your ability to play a role in a cross‑functional team will allow you to collaborate and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

Whilst the City of Gold Coast offers flexible ways of working, this role requires at least 50% on‑site presence to effectively reach collaborative solutions.

To succeed in the role, you will:

Be self‑motivated, proactive and creative, with the ability to inspire and influence others.

Positively collaborate with developers and testers when solution is designed.

Report on Solution Architect initiatives and performance through relevant channels.

Liaise and negotiate with internal and external vendors and cross‑functional services.

Apply change management practices to ensure customer requirements are considered and appropriately addressed.

Ensure compliance with appropriate Solution Architect methodologies, processes, and reporting.

Remain focused on continuous improvement and have an awareness of emergent technologies.

Possess high‑level interpersonal skills.

Coordinate acquisition of solution resources (ICT hardware, software, services).
