The Opportunity:
Full‑Time 1.0 EFT | Ongoing contract of employment.
PW6 $83,214 - $89,326 per annum + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Chadstone Campus – onsite parking and convenient access to public transport.
The People Experience (PEX) department supports the Institute in achieving its strategic goals by strengthening workforce capability and capacity. PEX delivers a wide range of human resource services including strategic planning, workforce relations, talent acquisition, capability development, diversity and equity, health, safety and wellbeing, and employee engagement. The team is committed to delivering contemporary, professional, and high‑quality human resource services that enhance the experience of our staff and the broader Institute community.
The Senior HR Business Partner plays a key role in delivering Holmesglen’s HR partnering model, working closely with managers and teams to align people strategies with business objectives across designated portfolios. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role provides expert guidance on workforce planning, recruitment, organisational change, capability development, and employee relations, while collaborating with HR Centres of Excellence, Shared Services, and external stakeholders. With a strong focus on enhancing employee experience and leadership capability, the Senior HR Business Partner balances operational support with strategic insight to enable effective people management and drive organisational performance.
As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will:
Provide timely, expert HR advice across workforce planning, talent, performance, employee relations, change management, and policy matters.
Partner with leaders on end‑to‑end recruitment, ensuring position descriptions are current and aligned with business needs.
Lead and support complex employee relations, performance, wellbeing and OHS matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.
Build leader and team capability to meet strategic and future workforce needs.
Contribute to organisational change initiatives, offering guidance on readiness, engagement, communication, and using HR data to improve processes and culture.
To be successful, you’ll have:
Extensive HR partnering experience in complex environments, with strong influencing, coaching and relationship‑building skills.
Proven capability in recruitment, workforce planning and talent acquisition, with solid knowledge of legislation and HR practices.
Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and business acumen, using data to inform decisions.
Highly effective interpersonal skills, enabling respectful conversations, collaboration, adaptability and strong stakeholder relationships.
Delivery‑focused, able to manage priorities, meet deadlines and support change initiatives.
Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or related field (desirable); AHRI membership an advantage.
Appointment to this position is subject to holding an employee Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check (issued within the last 12 months). A current driver’s licence is preferred.
