Job Description

Our client, a well-established financial services firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice/Operations Manager to join their growing practice. This is a pivotal role that combines operational excellence with strategic project management and growth planning. You will be instrumental in driving the efficiency, development, and expansion of the practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services
  • Implement and maintain operational systems, processes, and procedures
  • Manage resource allocation and workflow optimisation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Project Management
  • Lead and deliver key strategic projects from inception to completion
  • Drive technology improvement initiatives and digital transformation projects
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Report on project progress to senior leadership
Growth & Strategic Planning
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand the practice
  • Identify new business opportunities and service offerings
  • Support business development initiatives and client acquisition efforts
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity
  • Create and implement strategic plans aligned with business objectives
Team Leadership
  • Line manage operational staff and provide mentoring and development
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
Essential Requirements
  • CII qualification (Level 4 Diploma minimum)
  • Proven experience in practice or operations management, ideally within financial services
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrable track record of successful delivery
  • Experience developing and implementing growth strategies
  • Excellent understanding of financial services regulations and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and operational systems
  • Experience with technology implementation or digital transformation projects
Desirable Requirements
  • Professional qualification (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or relevant financial services qualification)
  • Experience with change management and business transformation
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and practice management software
  • Previous experience in a client-facing financial services environment
