About Us
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Pamela Mam Health Centre was established in 2014 in response to the large and unmet health and related needs of a large and growing population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Goodna region.
About the Role
The position is responsible for participating in processes in conjunction with the Service Development Manager - Quality and Innovation, the clinical governance of the Pamela Mam Health Centre clinic in which they work and to provide expertise in the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services. The position will contribute to, and in some cases lead, clinical quality and safety and will foster a culture of organisational reflection and continuous quality improvement. The position will also be responsible for the provision of General Practitioner services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team of medical and health staff, within the operational framework of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander community controlled Health Service.
Providing clinical advice and support to the Pamela Mam Health Centre management team and Practice Manager
Oversee the delivery of comprehensive preventive health assessments for clients across the age spectrum, and provide leadership for the multidisciplinary team in delivery of coordinated care planning for clients with complex chronic care needs
Establish and maintain strong linkages with other health providers in the area to ensure optimum coordination of care and advocacy for the client base
Contribute to the maintenance of high-quality information in electronic record systems. Utilise patient information and recall systems to support individual client care, and identify population health needs and gaps in service delivery
Provide clinical services to clients during hours of operation of the service, in keeping with accepted best practice standards
About You
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
Current Criminal History Check
APHRA Registration
Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
Specialist GP recognition / vocational registration
MBBS and unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Bachelor of Medicine
Current CPR Certificate
Desirable, but not mandatory
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
