Description
As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Entain's digital ecosystem — from on-premises networks to our growing cloud environments. You'll leverage your technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to design, implement, and continuously enhance our security posture across complex systems that power millions of customer experiences every day.
Who We Are
You’ll thrive in an environment that challenges you to think critically, balance security with agility, and collaborate across diverse teams. With your deep understanding of cyber threats, risk management, and modern cloud security, you'll help shape how Entain protects its assets, data, and customers.
Your Impact
This is your opportunity to lead initiatives that elevate our resilience, drive innovation, and embed security at the heart of everything we do.
A Day in the Life
Based in our vibrant Bowen Hills office (or Wellington, if you're across the ditch), you'll enjoy a flexible hybrid work model that supports both deep technical focus and collaborative teamwork. No two days are the same — one day you might be refining threat detection strategies; the next, leading incident response, hardening infrastructure, or mentoring engineers on secure design principles.
What You'll Do
Fortify Entain's digital defences by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network, cloud, and endpoint architectures across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments
Lead vulnerability and risk management — identifying, assessing, and remediating security weaknesses across systems, software, and third‑party integrations
Embed automation and efficiency by leveraging scripting and modern security tooling (e.g., SIEM, EDR, SOAR) to detect, respond, and recover swiftly
Drive security monitoring and operational awareness, supporting incident response from triage to containment and recovery
Integrate security at every stage of development and operations, ensuring alignment with frameworks such as ACSC ISM, NIST, ISO27001, and MITRE ATT&CK
Collaborate across teams to ensure risk mitigation aligns with business priorities, compliance obligations, and customer expectations
Mentor and guide peers, providing thought leadership and fostering a culture of shared accountability for security
Champion proactive security awareness, helping teams adopt secure practices and stay ahead of emerging threats
Your Strengths
Proven experience in cyber security engineering, with hands‑on technical expertise across cloud and on‑premises environments
Strong understanding of Azure, AWS, and containerized architectures (AKS, EKS, Container Registry)
Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipeline security
Deep knowledge of security operations, incident response, and threat management
Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Strategic thinker with a passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement
Collaborative and pragmatic — able to balance strong risk awareness with business agility
Committed to uplifting others, sharing knowledge, and leading by example
