Job Description
Expression of Interest - Child & Family Practitioners
abrs is proudly dedicated to connecting passionate professionals like you with opportunities that create lasting impact across the children, youth and vulnerable persons sector.
As Australia's only charity‑owned recruitment agency, we're deeply committed to supporting committed practitioners and leaders to make a real difference – supporting families in crisis, empowering young people, and helping those affected by homelessness, family and domestic violence (DFSV), or alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges.
We proudly partner with organisations delivering vital services across family support, foster & kinship care, homelessness, AOD and domestic, family & sexual violence programs.
As sector reform and funding initiatives continue to expand, we’re seeking expressions of interest from dedicated professionals ready to contribute to evidence‑based, trauma‑informed programs that build safer, more inclusive communities.
We are welcoming Expressions of Interest from:
Caseworkers and Case Managers
Compliance and Quality Assurance Officers
Assessment Officers and Practitioners
Team Leaders and Program Managers
Practice Specialists
Operations Managers
We strongly encourage Expressions of Interest from individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, as well as those with lived experience or cultural understanding of the communities we support.
Our clients look for professionals who bring:
Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, or a related field (highly regarded)
Casework experience with children, young people, and families, ideally within DFV, OOHC, or community service settings
Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build rapport and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
An understanding of trauma‑informed and strengths‑based practice
The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain professionalism in complex or high‑pressure environments
A compassionate, client‑focused approach when supporting individuals experiencing crisis or vulnerability
A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
abrs is Australia's only charity‑owned, not‑for‑profit recruitment agency, with 100% of our net revenue returned to fund programs that support children, youth, and families. When you work with abrs, you’re engaging in an ethical recruitment process that directly funds vital programs in the community.
