This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Manager or Nurse Leader ready to take the next step into a Director of Nursing position.

Overseeing a premium day surgery facility, you'll be supported by an experienced executive team and empowered to lead a highly skilled clinical workforce. This is a long‑term leadership opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the growth strategy and continuing to raise the bar in surgical excellence.

The Role As the Director of Nursing, you will provide hands‑on clinical leadership, strategic oversight, and operational management of the surgical unit on site. Your expertise in perioperative care, along with a proactive approach to clinical governance, quality improvement, and staff mentoring, will ensure best practice standards are maintained across every aspect of the patient journey.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strong, visible leadership and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team

Oversee the clinical operations of the day surgery and specialist clinics

Ensure compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

Drive clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives

Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and performance outcomes

Foster a positive, high‑performing culture with a focus on safety and excellence

About You

Experienced DON, or Theatre Manager with a solid background in perioperative or day surgery settings

Demonstrated capability in team leadership, staff development, and operational management

Strong working knowledge of NSQHS Standards, accreditation processes, and clinical governance frameworks

Proficient in budget management and P&L oversight

Passionate about delivering high‑quality care and achieving outstanding patient outcomes

A collaborative leader with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
