Job Description
Our client, a well-established financial services firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice/Operations Manager to join their growing practice. This is a pivotal role that combines operational excellence with strategic project management and growth planning. You will be instrumental in driving the efficiency, development, and expansion of the practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services
- Implement and maintain operational systems, processes, and procedures
- Manage resource allocation and workflow optimisation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Project Management- Lead and deliver key strategic projects from inception to completion
- Drive technology improvement initiatives and digital transformation projects
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Report on project progress to senior leadership
Growth & Strategic Planning- Develop and execute growth strategies to expand the practice
- Identify new business opportunities and service offerings
- Support business development initiatives and client acquisition efforts
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity
- Create and implement strategic plans aligned with business objectives
Team Leadership- Line manage operational staff and provide mentoring and development
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
Essential Requirements- CII qualification (Level 4 Diploma minimum)
- Proven experience in practice or operations management, ideally within financial services
- Strong project management skills with demonstrable track record of successful delivery
- Experience developing and implementing growth strategies
- Excellent understanding of financial services regulations and compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and operational systems
- Experience with technology implementation or digital transformation projects
Desirable Requirements- Professional qualification (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or relevant financial services qualification)
- Experience with change management and business transformation
- Knowledge of CRM systems and practice management software
- Previous experience in a client-facing financial services environment
