Senior Solutions Designer - Cloud & Modernization X 2 - Remote :

On behalf of our Government Services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Solutions Designer – Cloud & Modernization X 2 for a 4-month role. This position is a remote position with potential onsite requirements at our client’s Guelph, Ontario office.

Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Designer to support the planning and design phase of a multi-year technology modernization initiative. The project focuses on modernizing a legacy application portfolio by transitioning to a secure, cloud-based environment, aiming to reduce technical debt and enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

Conduct current-state system analysis, planning, and draft solution design across multiple applications

Assess existing systems and identify opportunities for cloud migration, automation, and enhanced supportability

Design future-state solution architectures that align with modernization goals

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements

Develop solution roadmaps, integration strategies, and technical documentation

Ensure all designs align with security, compliance, and lifecycle management standards

Support governance processes and decision-making through expert technical analysis

Mandatory Skills

10+ years of experience in solutions design

Ability to design hosting technology solutions based on client specifications, standards, policies, best practices, and cost models

Knowledge of integrated networking technologies, mainframe, and midrange servers (Azure, migration, on-prem to cloud, application assessment)

Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance during solution design and implementation phases

Understanding of OPS standards and infrastructure management

Ability to evaluate system conditions, technical performance, and capacity to determine feasibility of expansion or replacement

Nice-to-Have Skills

OPS experience

Assignment Length This is a 4 month contract position.

Start Date ASAP.

Assignment Location Guelph, Ontario, Canada. This position is remote, with potential onsite requirements as needed.
