Job Description Are you a strategic technical leader with a passion for delivering complex engineering projects that exceed expectations? BEUMER Group Australia is seeking an experienced

Technical Project Manager

to take full ownership of our baggage handling systems from concept through to commissioning. This role is critical to ensuring system performance, integration, and customer satisfaction across large‑scale infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead the technical delivery of integrated baggage handling systems, ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

Taking full technical ownership of complex projects from design to delivery.

Defining system architecture in line with customer requirements and global standards.

Leading design reviews, validation gates, and system integration efforts.

Collaborate closely with Senior Project Managers (commercial) and Software Project Managers to ensure alignment across disciplines.

Coordinatecross-disciplinary engineering teams (software, mechanical, electrical).

Managetechnical risks, change requests, and interface challenges.

Supporting commercial teams with technical insights and documentation.

Oversee on‑site testing, commissioning, and customer handover activities.

Success in this role means delivering validated systems on time and within budget, with minimal defects and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a technically astute leader who thrives in high‑stakes environments and brings:

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering

6–10 years in engineering or system integration roles

4+ years leading cross‑functional technical teams

Strong international project delivery experience

PMP or PRINCE2 certification

Experience with conveyors, automation, or sorting systems is highly desirable.

Proven ability to lead cross‑disciplinary technical teams in complex project environments

Expertise in system integration and architecture definition

Strong technical risk management and problem‑solving capabilities

In‑depth knowledge of baggage handling systems and automation technologies

Strategic communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

High‑level stakeholder leadership and influence

Critical thinking and decision‑making under pressure

Cultural intelligence and experience working across diverse teams

Ability to manage technical interfaces and change requests effectively

Commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
