In the role of Senior Industrial Water / Wastewater Engineering Project Manager , we'll count on you to lead, direct, develop and market projects involving the planning, design and construction administration of industrial water and wastewater facilities.
Experience directing project teams and staff and will lead industrial and municipal water / wastewater (IW / WW) and Waste to Energy (WTE) projects as a project manager, process discipline lead and / or final quality reviewer.
Be involved in marketing, client relationships and planning of proposals and interviews with a focus on municipal and industrial and clients
Provide project and task management; conducting difficult to complex process engineering for both projects and proposals; collecting, assimilating, and presenting data in reports, memos and public forums; leading production of design calculations and technical reports; and leading preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agree-to budget and schedule.
Assist Waste WTE Practice Leader with the development and implementation of best practices intended to improve delivery of services to internal and external clients.
Leverage industry contacts externally to expand relationships with municipal and industrial water and wastewater and WTE technical staff and clients in key locations.
Support the development of WTE project experience qualifications and other marketing materials.
Identify and organize the necessary health and safety training required for WTE practitioners to perform duties safely and efficiently in compliance with HDR guidelines and WTE industry standards.
Possess strong oral and written communication and listening skills, including good leadership and organizational skills. A passion for mentoring junior staff is highly desirable in support of building and growing our team.
Implement HDR’s Quality Management System (QMS) standards across project teams and deliverables and oversee projects from development and initiation through close out.

Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 12 years related experience
A minimum of 8 years project management / process discipline experience
Experience in municipal and industrial water and wastewater systems and WTF planning and design, including project management.
Technical background in process design of industrial water / wastewater treatment and WTF facilities.
Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills within industrial facility environments.
Self‑motivated with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with project teams, both locally and across all of HDR. Prior experience working within a matrix organization or consulting environment a plus.
Strong oral and written communication and listening skills, including good leadership and organizational skills.
Experience handling multiple assignments and multiple clients simultaneously.
Experience with Design / Build project delivery is also desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10 years related experience
A minimum 5 years project management experience
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example : Professional Engineer (PE or ) license.
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
