Job Description
Sim Ventions is seeking a System Administrator to maintain servers for compliance with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) policies for Linux and Windows-based operating systems. We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker equally comfortable performing installs, patches, upgrades, and troubleshooting for servers as they are building new infrastructure servers or solving complex problems related to Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines. Mary's County, MD and requires daily on-site presence. Clearance: A Top-Secret Clearance is required for this position, though an employee would be permitted to start work with an interim clearance. At least five years of hands-on experience working within UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
Experience in Do D Information Assurance/Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scanning
Experience with Linux Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), Experience with UNIX/Linux, Red Hat, Cent OS (Linux).
Installing, configuring and managing the Linux operating systems and related toolsets
Installing and troubleshooting common industry COTS and GOTS applications
Functional knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies
Maintaining, administering and patching systems for optimum performance and security
Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online
Building new infrastructure servers
Performing Continuous Monitoring actions for systems and infrastructure including scanning, Do D STIG application and other Cyber compliancy actions
Work in an Agile scrum methodology to track and report on tasking
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
Education: BS in a technical field (Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research preferred) Compensation: Compensation at Sim Ventions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $$90,000 - $$120,000 (USD).
