About the Role
Whitsunday Anglican School is inviting applications for a Head of Junior School (Kindergarten to Year 6). This is a rare and exciting opportunity in the life of the School. Reporting to the Principal, and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role will provide strategic, academic, operational, and pastoral leadership for the Junior School, encompassing Kindergarten to Year 6, as well as the Kindergarten, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), and Vacation Care programmes. The role is responsible for advancing the School's Mission, Vision, Values and Anglican ethos, with a commitment to excellence in education and wellbeing in the Junior School. The Head of Junior School will lead a team of teaching and support staff in creating an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment where every child is known, valued, and challenged to achieve their full potential.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent
Postgraduate qualifications in Education or Leadership (highly desirable)
Registration with Queensland College of Teachers or the ability to obtain
Demonstrated leadership experience within a Primary or Junior School setting
Experience in Independent or faith-based education or leadership in a State School (desirable)
Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning ability
Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution skills, and emotional intelligence
Proven capacity to build teams and foster a collaborative culture
Commitment to continuous professional learning and development
A focus on driving excellence with programmes that foster a balanced education
