Senior Estimator

Due to an internal promotion, a position has become available for a senior civil estimator.

The Role

Lead the preparation of tenders, cost estimates and bid submissions for civil projects

Complete detailed quantity take-offs, rate builds, first principles estimating and risk analysis

Review drawings, specifications and design packages to identify scope gaps and planning considerations

Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to obtain accurate pricing and clarify scope

Provide clear advice to Directors on buildability, methodology, staging and cost drivers

Prepare tender methodologies, program assumptions and supporting documentation for submissions

Support post-tender queries, negotiations and handovers with the delivery team

Drive continual refinement of estimating processes, pricing libraries and tendering accuracy

The Criteria

7+ years of estimating experience in civil construction (local experience preferred)

Solid understanding of SA subcontractor markets, pricing, methodologies and tendering expectations

Ability to confidently interpret drawings and technical documentation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Subdivision estimating experience highly regarded
