What you'll do

You’ll be our senior clinical leader. The person who ensures our programs are safe, evidence-based, and future-focused. You'll guide governance, mentor professionals, and work alongside our Chief Medical Officer and Executive team to shape initiatives that make a real difference.

Your impact will include:

Leading clinical governance and risk management

Driving health strategy and innovation across the organisation

Mentoring and supporting a strong clinical community

Partnering with consumers to keep care person-centred

Representing Diabetes Australia in key forums and networks

What we're looking for

You'll bring the experience and credibility to lead at a national level. Here’s what matters most:

Current AHPRA registration

as a senior health professional (e.g., Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, General Practitioner)

Minimum 5 years

in clinical governance, quality improvement, and health leadership roles

Strong knowledge of

national health standards, accreditation, and regulatory frameworks

Proven ability to

advise executives and integrate clinical leadership into strategy

Experience in

multi‑jurisdictional health or advocacy organisations

Must have existing Australian work authorisation

Bonus points if you have:

Postgraduate qualifications in health management, public health, or clinical governance

Experience in diabetes care or chronic disease management

Familiarity with consumer‑centred care models and health funding
