The Opportunity
Senior WHS Consultant
is responsible for providing specialist consultancy services, expertise, advice and support which contributes to the strategic objectives of TAFE SA. The role significantly influences practical application of the WHS, Wellbeing and Return to Work Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practices, standards (including Return to Work SA selfâinsurers standards), policy, procedures, and operating instructions to prevent, mitigate and manage injury.
The Senior WHS Consultant autonomously manages projects, leads complex accident investigation, including notifiable events, assists in the development of other WHSIM team members through knowledge and skills transfer. They provide high level consultancy services in injury prevention and injury management to support Business Unit Directors, managers, and staff to prevent and mitigate the business, social and economic impact of workplace incidents and injuries.
What Weâre Looking For
Significant level of knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of legislation, policies and procedures relating to workplace health, safety, and injury management.
Significant proven experience in workplace health and safety, with success in at least two WHS functional positions, providing clientâfocused consultancy, liaison and advisory services.
Proven experience in developing and executing projects and services that support WHS legislation, codes of practice, standards, policies, and procedures.
Significant experience in conducting complex WHS investigations and identifying corrective actions in a timely manner.

A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the South Australian Department of Human Services is required before employment.
