About the Role
As an
Environmental Data Officer , you will play a key role in supporting the collection, analysis and management of environmental data. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to improving data accuracy and integrity across environmental programs.
Key Responsibilities
Managing, verifying and analysing large environmental datasets
Assisting in the development of data processes, tools and reports
Ensuring accuracy and consistency in data entry, interpretation and reporting
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to support ongoing environmental projects
Contributing to process improvements and data-driven decision making
Opportunity to upskill and develop within a supportive federal team
Potential for transition to a permanent role based on performance
Flexible working hours (7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday)
APS Level:
APS4 or APS5 (depending on experience)
Duration:
Initial 3-6 months, with potential extension or permanency
Pay rate:
$39.50 - $48.70 per hour (depending on skillset/APS level)
Location:
Canberra preferred, however candidates based in
Melbourne, Sydney, or Adelaide
will also be considered
Baseline security clearance preferred but not essential
About You
You’ll bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a passion for environmental data and systems.
Degree in
Environmental Science
or
Information Technology
(or related field)
Excellent data analysis, reporting and database management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing information
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Interest in continuous learning and development within the APS environment
Classification
APS4 or APS5 (Labour Hire)
Type
Full-time, contract (potential to become ongoing)
