A leading international law firm is looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious Corporate M&A Associate for its London office. The ideal candidate will bring strong transactional experience across a range of public and private M&A matters. Role Summary:
The successful candidate will play a key role within the London corporate team, contributing to transactions that involve mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, and a range of corporate advisory work.
This position requires hands-on experience across the transaction life cycle, from initial structuring and preliminary documentation to due diligence, negotiations, and final execution. International exposure and cross-border transaction experience are particularly valued.
You will also engage closely with colleagues across the firm’s global offices, providing UK corporate expertise on international deals and collaborating with cross-border teams on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on the structure and execution of share and asset sales
- Leading and supporting on legal due diligence processes
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating core transaction documents
- Managing disclosure exercises and data room oversight
- Providing advice on joint ventures and shareholder arrangements
- Delivering corporate advisory support on governance and general company law matters
- Supporting client development efforts, both individually and as part of a wider team strategy
- Managing matters proactively with high-quality client service and communication
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with firm protocols and policies
- Monitoring legal developments relevant to corporate/M&A practice
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales with strong London M&A experience)
- Solid background in corporate M&A (both private and public transactions), with working knowledge of the UK Takeover Code is desirable
- Familiarity with cross-border deal structures and international corporate law considerations
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to simplify complex legal issues for clients
- Confident in managing client expectations and independently leading workstreams
- Proactive approach to business development and internal collaboration
