About the Role

We’re working with a leading food business to recruit a Seafood Category Manager who will take full ownership of the fresh fish category — from sourcing and supplier management through to product range and commercial performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for seafood and experience in category management or buying within the fresh food sector. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, drive innovation, and ensure the category delivers quality, profitability, and sustainability.

The role is ideal for a commercially minded buyer who enjoys combining strategic planning with hands-on supplier engagement and has a strong understanding of the UK seafood market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the category strategy for fresh fish, aligning with business goals and market trends.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, contracts, and promotions.
• Oversee product mix and availability, ensuring quality, freshness, and sustainability standards are met.
• Work closely with operations and quality teams to maintain consistent stock flow and product excellence.
• Monitor performance, analyse data, and report insights to senior management.
• Identify new product opportunities and emerging seafood trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams across commercial, procurement, and supply chain.
