Position: GM / Sr. GM– Finance Controller – Domestic Business
Location: Bhat, Ahmedabad
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Controller to lead the financial strategy, planning, and control for our Domestic Pharmaceutical Business. The role requires a strong leader with deep knowledge of pharma industry dynamics, financial governance, compliance, and business partnering to drive profitability and sustainable growth.
As-Finance Controller, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring robust internal controls, and partnering with cross-functional leaders to enhance operational efficiency and margin performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Lead annual operating plan (AOP), budgets, and quarterly forecasts for the domestic business.
- Develop financial strategies aligned with business growth objectives, market expansion, and profitability targets.
- Partner with business heads to evaluate investment opportunities, product launches, and pricing strategies.
Financial Control & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IND AS, Companies Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Ensure timely MIS reporting to management with actionable business insights.
- Monitor working capital, cash flows, receivables, and inventory to optimize business performance.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to pharma industry compliance requirements (NPPA guidelines, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations).
- Establish and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Liaise with statutory, internal, and tax auditors for smooth audit closures.
Cost Optimization & Efficiency
- Drive cost control initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing functions without compromising quality.
- Identify areas for operational efficiency improvements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical financial practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) – mandatory for CA or CMA; MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- 15–20 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong background in domestic business finance, preferably with exposure to branded formulations, generics, and institutional sales.
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel/financial modelling.
- In-depth understanding of pharma pricing regulations, taxation, and industry-specific compliance norms.
