Vice President, Marketing & Publicity

to lead the next evolution of our marketing and brand strategy.

Reporting to the SVP, Content & Marketing, the

VP, Marketing & Publicity

will shape and lead the strategy, vision, and execution of Corus’ marketing and publicity efforts, driving audience growth across our linear, news, and audio brands and leading subscriber acquisition and engagement strategies for our streaming portfolio, including StackTV.

Overseeing a talented team across Marketing, Publicity, Creative and Social, the VP will champion breakthrough thinking, build strong differentiated brand positioning, and elevate Corus’ presence across platforms, markets, and audiences.

Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

Lead the development of clear, distinctive brand positioning across the portfolio.

Oversee enterprise‑wide marketing and publicity strategies and annual plans.

Allocate budgets across platforms to optimize spending, drive performance, and support the overarching business strategy.

Audience & Performance Growth

Lead audience‑growth strategies across linear, news, and audio, and guide subscriber acquisition and retention efforts for StackTV.

Use insights, attribution, data, and trends to inform decision‑making and optimize campaign performance.

Partner with Programming, Content Distribution, and Content teams to align marketing priorities with audience goals.

Partner with News, Local TV, and Radio leadership on campaigns that drive audience, listener growth, and revenue.

Creative, Publicity & Social

Lead integrated teams across Creative, Publicity, Social, and Digital in delivering high‑quality, culturally resonant campaigns.

Work closely with the Head of the Creative Agency to ensure creative output that drives brand affinity and business outcomes.

Grow earned media impact through strong media relations, press strategy, and influencer engagement.

Partnerships & External Relations

Build strong relationships with U.S. and Canadian studios, distributors, and platform partners (e.g., Amazon Prime Video).

Support Advertising Sales through trade marketing, industry events, and leadership of Corus Upfront.

Lead, motivate, and support a team of senior leaders across marketing, publicity, and creative functions.

Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, agility, and accountability.

Decision‑Making Scope

Brand creation and positioning

Marketing strategy and on‑air promotion direction

Departmental budget and overall marketing spend

Contra and media plans

Staffing and structural design

Qualifications Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Marketing or Communications preferred).

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Marketing, Brand, Communications, Advertising, or Media.

Proven ability to build, position, and grow consumer brands at scale.

Experience leading integrated marketing strategies across linear, digital, and streaming platforms.

Success directing creative teams and agencies across multiple formats.

Deep understanding of audience behaviour, media consumption, attribution, and performance marketing.
