About Us Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHSAC) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation.

We provide primary health care services across nine communities, operating from six health centres across 45,000 square kilometers in the Big Rivers region of the NT. The Sunrise footprint covers Aboriginal communities with some of the most untouched, beautiful landscapes to explore, where locals are welcoming and generous in sharing their culture.

Sunrise now has multiple opportunities for experienced or aspiring Health Centre Managers to join our dedicated teams across a number of remote communities in the Big Rivers region.

The Role As a Health Centre Manager, you’ll report to the Clinical Operations Manager and lead a multidisciplinary health team in delivering high-quality, culturally safe healthcare. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, strengthen integrated care delivery, and build the capacity of Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) and Indigenous staff.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective primary healthcare services.

Oversee clinical operations, planning, portfolio management, pharmacy and consumables.

Manage health centre assets and resources to ensure smooth operations.

Mentor, support, and train staff to deliver culturally safe healthcare.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve health outcomes.

Participate in the emergency on‑call roster and support after‑hours responses.

Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for both staff and patients.

What You’ll Bring

Registration with AHPRA as a General Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.

Broad experience in comprehensive primary healthcare with advanced clinical skills to work effectively in remote settings.

Commitment to the values of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and respect for Aboriginal culture.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to supervise, mentor, and inspire diverse teams.

Understanding of Aboriginal health issues, health inequality drivers, and NT health legislation (desirable).

Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to achieving positive outcomes.

Compliance Requirements (or willingness to obtain)

National Criminal History Check (non‑adverse)

OCHRE clearance

Acceptable vaccination status for working with vulnerable people in the NT
