Senior Software Engineer

In this role, you’ll be developing and maintaining complex software applications that support data-driven decision making, risk management, and intelligence functions across a major enterprise environment. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary Agile team — including technical leads, business analysts, solution architects, testers, and product owners — to deliver high-quality software solutions that align with enterprise architecture and security standards.

About the Role We’re seeking an experienced

Senior JavaScript Developer

to join a high‑performing

Data Platforms Applications

team within a large government department.

Key Responsibilities

Develop complex software applications using modern

JavaScript technologies

to meet business and user needs.

Develop and maintain

automated unit testing

and

Azure DevOps Pipelines

for CI/CD, security scanning, and QA.

Manage

security vulnerability remediation , dependency updates, and code reviews.

Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale systems in complex ICT environments.

Use

React, TypeScript, CSS (including Less CSS), and HTML

for front‑end development.

Integrate and consume

RESTful and SOAP Web Services .

Leverage

Git with Azure DevOps

for source control.

Use

Azure Pipelines and related Azure technologies

for continuous integration and deployment.

Essential Criteria

5+ years’ experience with

JavaScript technologies .

1+ year’s experience working with

applications hosted in AWS Cloud environments .

Experience with

React, TypeScript, CSS (including Less CSS), and HTML .

Experience with

RESTful and SOAP Web Services .

Experience with

Git with Azure DevOps

for source control.

Experience with

Azure Pipelines and related Azure technologies .

Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain large‑scale systems in complex ICT environments.

Requirements

Hold Baseline Clearance.

Experience in Government is desirable.

Canberra based (hybrid 2 days in office).
