What You’ll Be Doing As Senior Consultant, Organization Design and Effectiveness, you will support the Organization Design (OD) team in delivering structural design options to HR Advisory partners and business leaders. You will manage projects, prepare materials, conduct market research, and contribute to practice development within Organization Design. You’ll collaborate with HR Advisory, business leaders, the Executive Appointment Process (EAP) team, and other stakeholders to standardise materials, create process maps, track executive headcount, and integrate organisation design materials into broader HR processes. You will play a key role in job architecture reviews, mapping team members to new job families, and maintaining consistency in job descriptions across the bank. You will also support the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive job description inventory at CIBC, which may include implementing job description software.

How You’ll Succeed

Project Management & Process Improvement: Oversee and support the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of organisational design projects and processes. Create standardised materials for presentations and reviews to ensure consistency and clarity in communications. Develop work‑back plans and calendars to effectively manage timelines and deliverables for key initiatives. Partner with various teams to map and document organisational design processes, integrate relevant materials, and drive operational efficiency. Track executive headcount and provide regular reports to leadership to inform strategic decisions. Conduct annual refresh exercises and benchmark practices against industry standards to maintain best‑in‑class organisational design.

Research, Evaluation & Stakeholder Collaboration: Conduct research and collaborate with stakeholders to inform and educate on organisational design principles and practices. Perform internal and external research to support organisational design proposals and ensure recommendations are evidence‑based. Create and update educational materials on organisational design mandates and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing across the organisation. Learn and apply job evaluation principles for both executive and non‑executive roles to act as backup support during peak periods. Collaborate with HR partners, business leaders, and other stakeholders on organisational design initiatives to align efforts and achieve strategic objectives.

Job Architecture & Job Description Management: Lead job architecture reviews by creating new job families and profiles that support organisational needs and by collaborating with HR Advisory to map team members accordingly. Contribute to the creation of a non‑executive job description inventory by partnering with HR Advisory and business leaders across the various strategic business units.

Who You Are

You demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail and strong technical capabilities, ensuring the highest level of accuracy. Solid computer skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheet analysis, and organisation‑chart tools are required. You possess strong research techniques and the ability to leverage a network of resources to support competitive and market research for organisational design and job evaluation engagements.

You are results‑oriented, communicate effectively, highly responsive, and operate with a strong sense of urgency. Your advanced project planning and prioritisation skills allow you to effectively manage multiple initiatives. You excel in creating clear and impactful presentations and communication materials for organisational design projects and other business‑related needs.

You collaborate easily, leveraging your sound organisational knowledge. You have a strong customer orientation and work collaboratively with team members across various functions. Your knowledge of the CIBC organisation, including its lines of business, strategies, goals, and priorities, ensures your work aligns with the bank’s overall strategy. Your understanding of organisational design principles and concepts is a valuable asset in supporting organisational initiatives.
