Production Project Manager

Role of the Department

Establish centralized management and oversight of programs and projects for financial and strategic goals. Ensure standardized project management governance across the organization, continuously optimizing the allocation, prioritization and scheduling of resources across many projects.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Manage production accounts for external customers ·

Meet with external and internal customers to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project ·

Manage changes to the production schedule based on resource capacity and customer demands ·

Coordinate internal resources to balance production lines according to the business needs ·

Develop a detailed production plan to monitor and track progress ·

Develop comprehensive production plans to be shared with customers as well as other staff members ·

Manage the relationship with the customer and relevant stakeholders ·

Report production outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans ·

Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the product lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple production accounts ·

Ensure that products are delivered on time and within budget ·

Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline production efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs ·

Delegate tasks based on team members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels ·

Measure performance of production lines based on line capacity, efficiency and quality ·

Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs ·

Create and maintain comprehensive production documentation ·

Use and continually develop leadership skills ·

Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

Education / Knowledge requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

Work Experience requirements:

·

Minimum 5 years working experience in production management ·

Experience in the Aerospace or Mass Production industries is a plus. ·

Experience with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools (kanban, VSM, kaizen, levelling) and other Continuous Improvement Methodologies is a plus.
