Research development process engineer

Process R&D Engineer, 2 D Materials Location: Pisa, Italy Who are we looking for?We are seeking a highly skilled Process R&D Engineer to develop new technologies that enable the integration of 2 D materials into industry-leading photonic fabrication processes. As an experienced scientist and research engineer, you will have strong expertise in polymer preparation optimization, particularly for applications involving the integration of 2 D materials. What will you be doing?• Develop and optimize polymer preparation processes for the integration of 2 D materials in photonic applications• Investigate and improve material interfaces, focusing on the interactions of 2 D materials after the transfer process• Apply advanced chemical methodologies to enhance the growth and stability of graphene for high-performance applications• Conduct in-depth analysis and characterization of materials to drive continuous improvement in process efficiency and reliability• Stay at the forefront of scientific advancements in graphene and 2 D materials, integrating best practices into our research and new process development• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes within our overall graphene-integrated-photonics process flow What we need to see?• Master’s or Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field• Strong expertise in polymeric materials and their role in the preparation and integration of 2 D materials for photonic applications• Experience in working with 2 D materials, including their synthesis, characterization, and integration in various applications• Knowledge of CVD growth for graphene synthesis• Hands-on experience with characterization techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, AFM, and XPS• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and nanofabrication techniques• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven, detail-oriented approach• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills• Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional team• An ability to adapt to a fast-moving start-up environment, striving for innovation and excellence in everything you do• Eligibility to work in Italy
