We have an exciting opportunity for a

Product Specialist

to join our dynamic commercial team in Italy with a focus on the Regions of Northern Italy. In this field-based role, you will play a critical part in supporting healthcare professionals (HCPs) to identify and manage patients with

acute hepatic porphyria (AHP)

and

primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1)

— rare and often misdiagnosed conditions.

Reporting directly to the Field Business Lead Italy for the assigned region, the Product Specialist will manage and maintain relationships with nephrology, urology, ER specialists, as well as internal medicine physicians within the territory, and will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure the achievement of set objectives.

The Product Specialist Rare Diseases (she/he) – is responsible for the strategic development and operational excellence of assigned products, serving as a scientific and commercial point of reference for internal and external stakeholders.

Promoting innovative therapeutic solutions for rare genetic diseases such as

acute hepatic porphyria

(AHP) and

primary hyperoxaluria type 1

(PH1), rare conditions that are often misdiagnosed. The role requires close interaction with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), referral centers, and cross-functional teams, with the goal of facilitating diagnoses and ensuring access to treatment for patients with rare diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Customer Engagement & Scientific Promotion Drive high‑quality customer interactions to strengthen disease awareness and understanding of the RNAi platform; Ethically and compliantly promote products to target healthcare professionals, providing clear, value‑adding scientific discussions; Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and key stakeholders in the territory; Plan and prioritize customer visits and activities based on strategic needs and market dynamics.

2. Territory & Account Strategy Execute and improve territory-level plans and create targeted account plans with measurable KPIs; Analyze clinical, market, and sales data to identify opportunities and support business growth; Monitor territory performance and ensure consistent, high-quality follow‑up on key projects and initiatives.

3. Collaboration, Representation & Compliance Collaborate seamlessly with Medical, Commercial, and other functions to ensure coordinated customer and account execution (Sharing insights, avoiding siloed approaches, strong feedback culture); Represent the company’s values, culture, and scientific leadership in all internal and external interactions; Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, company SOPs, and the local Code of Practice.

About you… You are a strategic and relationship-driven professional with a proven ability to engage healthcare providers across both reference centers and the wider community. Your strong business acumen enables you to navigate healthcare environments and add tangible value to existing care structures. Drawing on your past experience, you excel at building awareness and driving timely access to innovative treatments.

You are fluent in Italian and English, and thrive in a field-based role that requires regular travel — with up to 80% of your time spent in your territory. Your ability to foster trust and deliver impact makes you a vital partner in improving outcomes for patients with rare diseases.

QUALIFICATIONS :

A degree in scientific disciplines (in compliance with Law 219/06); Previous experience in the rare disease therapeutic area will be considered a strong plus; Knowledge of and established relationships with the target specialists within the assigned territory; Ability to discuss scientific issues with KOLs; At least six months of experience in the same role within structured organizations; A proven track record of achieving individual objectives; Native Italian, ideally with conversational English; Frequent travel required; Excellent networking, communication, and presentation skills; Strong commercial and scientific acumen; Proficiency in managing multiple communication channels; Computer literate with CRM experience; Understanding of the Italian Health Economy.
