Equipment & facilities manager

We are looking for an Equipment & Facilities Manager to take technical and operational ownership of a startup cleanroom fab developing new photonic process concepts. This role is ideal for a highly hands-on leader who enjoys building things from the ground up—setting up tools, defining ways of working, and keeping a small, fast-moving fab running safely and reliably as processes evolve. What will you be doing?• Act as the technical owner for cleanroom equipment and facilities in an R&D-scale fab• Work hands-on with tools, including setup, troubleshooting, recovery, and day-to-day operation• Lead and support a small team of technicians and engineers, including training and knowledge transfer• Coordinate equipment installation, qualification, modification, and relocation• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance strategies suited to a startup environment• Own EHS compliance, equipment certification, and safe operating procedures• Perform risk assessments and support FMEA for new equipment & processes• Manage spare parts, consumables, suppliers, and external service providers• Build & maintain documentation: maintenance records, SOPs, and equipment histories• Support planning, scheduling, uptime targets, and continuous improvement What we need to see?• Degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience• Proven experience in a semiconductor, photonics, or cleanroom manufacturing environment• Working knowledge of CMOS process flow and fab operations• Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with a practical, problem-solving mindset• Experience coordinating teams, suppliers, and external service providers• Familiarity with risk analysis and FMEA methodologies• Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills• Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and vendor-facing interfaces• Intermediate or higher proficiency in spoken and written English Please contact Rachel Anderson for further details.
