About Keez Keez is a fintech/insurtech start-up, building Italy’s very first regulated rental deposit alternative platform - unlocking liquidity for tenants while providing institutional-grade guarantees to landlords.

Although an early-stage start-up, Keez is a PE-backed company with a plan to scale internationally and aggressively capture market share by 2030.

The Opportunity This is not a maintenance role. You will architect and build Keez technology from zero. You will design the core platform that underpins tenant onboarding and verification, risk scoring logic, policy lifecycle management, agency dashboards, underwriter integrations, and payment systems. You will lay the technical foundation for a business designed to scale.

Key Responsibilities • Design full system architecture from scratch; • Build secure, scalable backend infrastructure; • Create modular APIs for platform integrations; • Implement role-based access control and compliance logging; • Translate underwriting logic into system workflows; • Develop policy issuance and renewal flows; • Ensure GDPR compliance and audit trails; • Deploy cloud-natuve infrastructure (AWS/GCP preferred); • Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker); • Act as technical decision-maker and hire the second engineer.

Experience & Technical Requirements • 6–10+ years soaware engineering experience (negotiable depending on experience); • Experience building a product from zero to production; • Startup or scale-up experience preferred; • Background in fintech, insurtech, payments, or regulated environments preferred; • Strong backend expertese in Node.js/Type Script, Python (Fast API/Django), Go, or Java (Spring Boot); • Deep understanding of API design, authentication (OAuth2/JWT), database modelling, cloud infrastructure, and secure system architecture.
